While participating in the UCD-SPLASH program, students will work one-on-one with a faculty member on research projects devised by their mentors. The exact activities will depend on the individual faculty, but may include library archival research; digital research of periodicals/newspapers/print materials using library databases; editing; annotated bibliography work; literature review; and work in the digital humanities lab.
The participating students will have many opportunities to interact with their mentors during the eight weeks on the UC Davis campus and this mentorship is a crucial part of building skills and strategies in literary research through hands-on engagement with the faculty research project.
